Sorry for the delayed response! I hope this answer is still helpful.
I think certain degrees acquired will always have a stronger demand in the workforce and therefore the job prospects will be higher than others. Computer science, engineering, and business have been traditionally known to have strong job prospects but others such as science and arts degrees hold a lot of value as well. One of the biggest benefits of working after completing a program is that it can greatly increase your chances of obtaining a more permanent visa. International work experience in combination with an international education is also an attractive combination to top employers.
The US job market may be a bit hard to get into right now though due to the financial markets issues and the poor economy. I wouldn’t let that stop you from studying in the USA though.
Have you thought about Canada or other nations? Canada has new rules for post-grad students that you might find attractive
